Around 1,700 inhabitants and miles of coastline east and west of the town, Sisal is truly an unspoiled location. On the north the waters of the Gulf of Mexico mix with the Caribbean Sea in the named ‘emerald coast’. On the south side, there’s an endemic ecosystem called Cienaga, where mangroves, freshwater springs, cenotes and ocean water meet.
